Company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Support Engineering Data Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our technical documentation and support materials. Your primary responsibilities will include researching and evaluating technical source data and specifications to ensure accuracy and relevance.
You will be tasked with developing and maintaining various technical publication elements, which encompass theory of operations, testing and troubleshooting procedures, removal and installation procedures, and schematic diagrams. Additionally, you will coordinate the preparation of illustrative materials to support these publications.
As part of your duties, you will conduct quality and in-process reviews, validating technical publications to ensure they meet our high standards. You will also be responsible for developing multiple publication elements that cater to all levels of maintenance for fielded equipment, minor systems or multiple subsystems.
Your analytical skills will be used as you collect, research, and analyze source data, validating it based on predefined and developed assumptions. Furthermore, you will estimate the impact of proposals or changes to the publication elements, ensuring that all documentation remains up-to-date and effective.
Position Responsibilities
Develop all publication elements for all levels of maintenance for a new or fielded major equipment system or multiple sub systems including theory of operations, flight manuals, testing and troubleshooting procedures, illustrated parts breakdown, removal and installation procedures and schematic diagrams
Resolves source data gaps and inconsistencies with originator
Provide art/illustration mark-ups
Updates publication elements based on internal/external reviews, source data changes and equipment modifications
Collects, researches and analyzes source data to include equipment requirements, maintenance concepts, task analysis documentations, workflows and concept of design to determine impact to technical publications
Identifies source data inaccuracies and takes corrective action
Validates source data assumptions
Conducts peer reviews of completed publication elements for overall technical accuracy and customers format standards/specifications
Supports customer verification reviews and takes corrective action based on outcome
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
Requirements
What you'll need
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ year of tactical aircraft avionics systems, subsystems, and components, to include flight controls, radar, communications and weapons, power distribution, etc. This includes the requirements, operating principles, design variables, performance, and key interfaces.
1+ years of experience with technical data and publications for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering?
1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
2+ years of experience in either military or civilian aircraft maintenance
1+ years of experience authoring aircraft technical data
1+ years of experience with reading and interpreting vendor data and Engineering drawings, 3D models, wiring diagrams, and interface control documents
1+ years’ experience with S1000D & Interactive Electronic Technical Manual publication
Familiar with eXtensible Markup Language; XML
Familiar with Contenta
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience , 7 years' related work experience, etc.).
