Position Description

Job Summary
- Design, analyze and disposition M&P repairs for structural nonconformances in a timely manner to restore model/blueprint design integrity.
- During evaluation of nonconforming product, determine if there is an impact to:
- Functional interfaces
- Structural integrity of the part
- Metallurgical concerns such as reduced mechanical properties
- Repair and Overhaul capability
- Weight, Appearance, Aerodynamics, Interchangeability, Maintainability
- Adhere to company MRB Engineering and QA procedures.
- Interact with inspectors, shop technicians, other engineering disciplines, and management as required, providing support, prepare engineering dispositions, discussing RCCA, etc.

Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments in aircraft structures to recommend innovations to improve the quality, economy, and effectiveness of company products and processes.

Requirements

Required Skills
- Dedicated MRB/Liaison experience desired and considered a plus.
- Experience should be primarily with the creation and justification of M&P engineering dispositions for non-conformances for pressurized and non-pressurized, metallic and non-metallic detail parts and assemblies for fuselage, wing, or empennage components.
- Experience with managing multiple engineering issues on different aircraft and prioritizing as required to meet production schedules.
- Experience should be in a Production and/or schedule driven environment.
- Must be computer literate (such as, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Catia V5, Smarteam, Solumina). Ability to model parts in Catia a plus.
- Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Skills
- MRB Experience with metal bonding, metal forming, fastener substitutions and Non Destructive Testing (NDT) is desired
- Knowledge of sheet metal, machined parts and other concepts related to general aviation aircraft design, manufacturing and assembly
- Familiarity with most types of aeronautical materials and fabrication processes such as composites, metals, wiring, tubing, ducting, and general engineering principles is desired.
- Experience working with Operations/Process documents, procedures, and records required.
- Ability to read-interpret CAD based tooling, component, assembly drawings required.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Statistical Process Control required.
- Strong familiarity with high-end manufacturing equipment and processes (ie. castings, metal cutting, turning, coatings, milling, EDM, welding, sheet metal/composite forming and joining, metal tube bending, castings, metal cutting, turning, coatings, milling, EDM, welding).
- Knowledge of manufacturing support processes and systems (ie. inspection, gauging, data collection, records & reporting, first article approvals).
- Experience with customer/supplier interaction preferred.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, ACE or CORE

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job .
