Job Description
Provide on-site Field Engineering and Technical Support to the United States Air Force at Charleston Air Force Base, SC as an integral part of a multi-discipline team in conjunction with the C-17 Globemaster III Sustainment Partnership (GSP) contract. Use broad knowledge of Company C-17 design and engineering principles. Assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle. Apply engineering principles and experience to research technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer. Develop and document interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall USAF C-17 OSS&E. Use innovative approaches and unique applications to solve complex nonconforming conditions. Identify documents, analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommend and manage resolutions. Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews. Participate in on-site disabled aircraft repair/recovery teams, safety or accident investigation boards, and aircraft maintenance recovery teams. Design interim and permanent aircraft structural repairs and conduct static strength analysis. Develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Develop and implement technical training curriculum for internal and external customers. Develop and implement product/process improvements. Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods of time in a wide variety of cultural/economic environments.
