Position Description

Translates engineering requirements into product definition data (e.g., detail, assembly and installation drawings, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) data, Bill of Material (BOM) etc.) to communicate requirements to downstream customers. Validates completed product definition data to Company and industry standards. Creates and maintains product definition data processes. Maintains product/part structure and configuration management of product components. Translates sketches, layouts and written specifications of engineering requirements into product definition data (e.g., detail, assembly and installation drawings, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) data, parts list or Bill of Material (BOM) etc.) based on applicable standards and established precedents. Performs self-validation of product definition data to insure the accuracy of completed work.

Describe the project/day-to-day activities they will be working on:
First 2-3 months: Extensive training
Once training complete:
- Team lead provides work tasks
- Work in groups to ensure quality
- Pull packages from a queue to work on their own, work closely with teammates.

Requirements

Required Skills:
• Completed a 2 year design degree (or close to completion).
• 1+ years of experience in CATIA, CAD, Enovia
• Relevant course material on the operations needed to create a 3D model (Solidworks, CATIA, other 3D software)
• Relevant course material on using 2D/3D dimensioning to define 3D parts
• Soft skills to communicate and coordinate with Engineering and other stakeholders

Preferred:
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite
• Previous Company experience.
• Software certifications.
• Mechanically inclined (experience with machines, working on cars etc..)
• Has a passion for the aerospace industry, passion or design.

Preferred soft skills?
• Soft skills to communicate and coordinate with Engineering and other stakeholders.
• Ability to identify if a project is not complete, can see it through to the end.
• Willing and able to learn, self starter.
• Motivated to learn on their own
• Good communication skills (when remote and onsite).
• Ability to adapt while working multiple projects.
• Competitive spirit, driven by completing goals.

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc)
